Criminology grad, uncle nabbed for robbery
– Emmanuel Tupas
A criminology graduate and his uncle were arrested after they allegedly robbed a woman in Pasig City on Thursday.
Norbert Ginoo, a son of a former police officer, and his uncle, Grant Steven, were collared at a checkpoint in Barangay San Nicolas at around 8:55 p.m.
Lt. Julio Valle Jr., commander of the Pasig police sub-station 2, said Ginoo also has a brother who is a Mandaluyong City policeman.
The two are accused of robbing Maria Christina Regio, 19, along Caruncho Avenue.
Regio told police she boarded a tricycle and pursued the suspects, who sped away on a motorcycle.
Valle said the victim identified the suspects as the ones who robbed her.
The two tried to escape but were captured after a brief chase. The suspects yielded a .38-caliber revolver and a kitchen knife.
The suspects face charges of robbery, illegal possession of a firearm and bladed weapon and violation of the election gun ban.
